I Will Not Be A Victim.

I opened my eyes,

to see a million people close their's.

I stood up tall on my feet,

to see a million people fall to the ground.

I raised my voice in protest,

to hear a million voices being choked.

Is this the world we want to live in?

Is this the life we want to lead?

Is it just a mere survival we wish to go through?

Everyday, we leave our houses with the fear that we might not come back. Mothers pray & fathers put locks & bolts on the door & hide the keys to keep us "safe" inside. Is this what life is going to be like from now on?

Will there be no saviour?

Will there be none who rise above this chaos?

Innocent lives are being lost & we are sitting here doing nothing!

The sounds we hear right now, are only prologues to the final sound that will wipe away our very existance.

Yet, we do not realise how short our time is, how dire our predicament might be & yet we do not try to save ourselves.

"Jo hota he hone do.", is this what our motto was?

Where is the "tanzeem"?

Where is the "ittefaq"?

It is a plea, open your eyes.

Too many have been closed forever already in lieu of false pretenses.

Let's not lose any more lives for causes we do not wish to follow.

I will not be a victim.

We will not be victims!
